bonded ndfeb magnets

Bonded NdFeB magnet is made through "compression molding" or "injection molding" of the mixture of quick-quenched NdFeB magnetic powder and bonding agent.Due to its high accuracy in size, the bonded maget may be formed into magnetic components of relatively complicated shapes. Also,it features single-time molding and multi-pole orientation. The injection molded magnet has a high mechanical strength and may be molded together with other matching parts.

One of the greatest advantages of the injection molding process is that a high degree of shape complexity is possible — ie. gears, snap fits and undercuts. It is also possible to incorporate shafts, bushes and other inserts into the process, simplifying the magnetic assembly manufacturing process.

Bonded NdFeB is produced by a technique whereby a special form of NdFeB powder is blended with a plastic carrier material, die pressed and then heated. Parts made in this way can be of complex shapes and come off the tool with close tolerances, requiring no further finish machining. They have lower energy products than Sintered NdFeB - in the range of 10 MGOe. The Bonded NdFeB materials are isotropic - i.e. they can be magnetized in any direction.
